Great sound from this SMALL speaker! October 13, 2009 Drake Li (Brooklyn, New York) 86 out of 88 found this review helpful
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2KSLBB7WY5UHJ (Video) Could have been better quality, but too large and wouldn't upload.
First off, This speaker is incredible for it's size. There is almost no distortion in sound when playing on MAX volume. It comes with a USB splitter, to charge and a 3.5mm plug so that you can connect multiple X Mini II's together. It also comes with a handy bag to store your X Mini II in. I had an Altec Lansing iM207 before this, and the X Mini II blew the iM207 away!!!. The size difference was one thing, and the sound quality was another. The iM207 also ran on 3 AAA batteries. There will also be distortion in the iM207 on full volume. The playtime with the batteries was terrible. I had to switch batteries every week, with only around 20minutes of playtime each day. For the X Mini II, it can play up to 8 hours. There are also LED indicators of when you need to charge again, and when it is fully charged.
Best small speaker I've found November 22, 2009 John D. Steere (Silver Spring, MD United States) 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
I bought this and the iHome rechargeable mini-speaker at the same time. The iHome mini-speaker is much louder, but the sound quality of the X-Mini II is better for music, at least in my opinion. You get more of the high and low tones with the X-Mini II, and I am surprised that it does not have a tinny sound. The iHome speaker is good for movies or if you need a loud but small speaker for parties. The X-Mini II is slightly larger than the iHome speaker, but not much. I recommend the X-Mini II for listening to music, and it works really well with my netbook or with an mp3 player.
Fantastic September 9, 2009 S. Weaver (Missoula, Montana United States) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've owned several "portable speaker" systems in my time, and this one is by far 2 things the others were not....
The smallest, and the loudest.
Not to mention the audio quality is pretty damn good. I would recommend this product any day to anyone who is looking for a portable speaker.
Great Sound from small speakers May 24, 2009 Shiznorak (USA) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I was very excited to see these speakers after reading some reviews about them, although I was highly disappointed to realize that no one in the USA sells them. We took a chance with a new company and order them from England and they came in 36 hours! Digital Audio USA I believe was the name of the company...but enough about that and now onto the speakers.
These babies are great. The sound they produce is amazing and the bass produce is quite impressive for the speakers. You have to yell to be heard if you play two of the speakers at the same time. Although you lose a little quality when the source of the music and the speaker are turned all the way up, but then again, what speaker doesn't. I do believe the loss of the quality is from the rattling sound as the speakers vibrate across the table from it's own bass. I am highly satisfied with this product and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for portable speakers.
Amazing mini speaker October 30, 2009 Peter Liu (Suwanee, GA United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Received this item on time. The transaction went smoothly. The company that actually carries it is called Satechi.
I did hesitate a bit before I order because I've never deal with them before. But now they gain my trust.
They even sent out follow-up email and check and see if my order went well. That is good customer service.
The speaker looks smaller than the one from some review clips I saw on Youtube.
After charging it I immediately put it to use.
Listening to my iTune music was a bit awkward, I could clearly feel that the sound source is one, it is coming from one direction.
All the music I played lost the stereo or surround effect. I feel like I was listening to some mono speaker on some old time radio.
Maybe I need to get another one?
I switched to playing some movie. WOW! Now that's a total difference! Not only the mono feeling is gone, but also I felt some surround effect. And most importantly, it is loud. I cannot believe how loud this tiny pod can be. Of course once I cranked the volume too high, it started losing sound quality and become scratchy. But I was just testing its limitation. So I am good over that part. The fact is for a moment I got sucked into the movie (Iron Man) and forgot about that the sound was coming out from my new X-Mini II. It was simply too good!
I love this speaker. I've been using it for more than 12 hours since my first and only charge and still haven't completely drained the battery ( pls dont worry bout me being stupid saying that when I mistakenly plug it in with the usb cable (charging mode). I only use the audio cable because I wanted to see how often I need to recharge this mini sound droid.
I like the pouch idea. It is nice to take it outside and set it up with my iPod and show off to my friends and hear them go "WOW".
